Ok, so it has nothing to do with Wednesday but today felt like the right time to share some more poetry with you ;)

My Little Tree

DSCF0014

I look at you, my little tree
And wonder, do you look at me,
Or is it just the air we breathe
That makes us feel the same?

I've watched you grow and sometimes wilt
And wondered, often out of guilt
If I'm to blame for your demise,
Or if my own is fault enough?

I show you where to find the light
And wonder, do you sleep at night?
Whilst I lie restless, open-eyed,
Afraid to let the dark inside.

I count the spots upon your leaves
And wonder, if such marks conceal
The pain and torment life has caused,
Or if that pain is mine, not yours?

I look at you, my little tree
And wonder, if I rightly see
A withered plant upon a shelf
Or a mirror image of myself?

Ok, so the tree is a little on the large side for sitting on the shelf, but it is a lovely tree don't you think? Picture was taken whilst walking in the grounds of a National Trust Property - Charlecote Park, I think
